Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Quick Travel Tools ("we", "us", "the Site") handles information when you use quicktraveltools.com. Quick Travel Tools is an independently operated website based in the United States. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run a fast, free website.

The short version

Site visitors don't create an account, and we don't ask for or store personal information about you. The tools run entirely in your browser. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to see which pages are popular, and some outbound links are affiliate links. Businesses that buy an API or embed plan do hold an account with us; what we store for them is covered in the API and embed customers section below. If you choose to save a trip with My Trips, what we store for that is covered in the Saved trips section below. That's it.

Information we collect

• No account, no tool inputs. The calculators and lookups run in your browser. The values you type (trip length, cities, expenses, etc.) are processed locally and are not sent to or stored by us. The one exception is a trip you choose to save with My Trips; see Saved trips.
• Cookieless analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures aggregate page views and performance without cookies and without building a profile of you or tracking you across sites.
• Standard server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve the Site and protect against abuse. This is described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

API and embed customers

If you hold a QuickTravelTools plan (Free, Publisher, or Business) for the API or the embed widget, we store the minimum needed to run your account:

• Account details. Your email address and plan. We use the email to send your keys, usage alerts, and support replies.
• Keys, stored hashed. API and site keys are stored only as SHA-256 hashes. We cannot show you a key again after it is issued; a lost key is replaced, not recovered.
• Usage counts. We keep aggregate call counts per account and per key (per day and per month) so your balance and limits work. We do not store the content of your readers' lookups, and the embed widget sets no cookies and does no fingerprinting on your site.
• Support mail. Emails you send to [email protected] are kept with your account so we can answer in context.

Payments through Paddle. Paid plans are sold through Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your name, billing address, payment method and tax details directly at checkout and processes them under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. Paddle confirms the payment to us with your plan, subscription status and a transaction reference, which we keep with your account so your plan works and billing problems can be resolved. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

We never sell account data. To export or delete your account data, email us and we will complete the request within 30 days.

Saved trips (My Trips)

My Trips is an optional feature. If you save a trip, we store only what the feature needs to work:

• Your email address, used only to sign you in (we email you a sign-in link; there is no password) and to send you an alert if a visa rule for a saved trip changes.
• The trip inputs: your passport country, the destination countries, the length of the trip, the kind of trip, how many people are travelling, a budget figure if your report included one, and travel dates if you add them on the trip page.
• Aggregate counts. We count events like reports viewed and trips saved, in total and per day, so we can tell whether the feature is useful. These counts hold no information about any one traveler.

No documents, ever. We never ask for or store a passport number, a document scan, or any other identity document. A passport country is the most personal detail a saved trip contains.

A saved trip is deleted when you delete it (one click on the trip or the list), when you delete your account (which deletes every saved trip), or automatically 90 days after the trip's end date. Trips with no end date are kept until you delete them. We never sell saved-trip data.

Cookies

Two signed-in features set one cookie each, only after you sign in: the API and embed console, and My Trips. Each cookie holds a random session token, is set for 30 days, and exists only to keep you signed in. Sign out and it is cleared and the session is deleted on our side too.

Apart from the two sign-in cookies above, our own tools and our analytics do not set cookies. If you click an affiliate link, the destination partner (see below) may set its own cookies once you're on their site. That's governed by their privacy policy, not ours. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on the Site are affiliate links: if you click through and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes the guidance our tools give. An affiliate link may take you to a partner (for example Saily, Amazon, SafetyWing, or World Nomads) whose own privacy policy then applies. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Advertising

We do not currently display third-party advertising. If we introduce ads in the future, we will update this policy to name the ad partner and describe how it handles data (including any cookie-consent controls required in your region) before any ads go live.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. For site visitors we hold no account data or personal profiles, so there is very little for us to hold, access, or delete. Plan holders can export or delete their account data at any time by emailing us. If you have a request, contact us and we'll help, including directing anything that relates to Cloudflare's processing.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
