Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-17

These terms cover your use of the QuickTravelTools embed widget, API, and plans (together, "the Service"), run by Quick Travel Tools ("we", "us"). By using the Service on a plan, you agree to these terms. The free tools on quicktraveltools.com for travelers are covered by these terms too where they apply, and they stay free. Payments for paid plans are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record, which runs the checkout, handles sales tax and VAT, and issues invoices. Cancelling and refunds for paid plans are covered by our Refund Policy.

1. What the data is, and what it is not

The Service provides visa requirement data for 199 passports and 220 destinations, checked daily against official sources, with the source linked on every answer.

The data is general guidance, not legal advice and not a guarantee of entry. Entry decisions are made by border officials, rules change without notice, and your own circumstances (criminal record, prior overstays, passport condition, purpose of travel) can change the answer. You and your users must verify requirements with the destination's official sources before traveling. We say this on every answer the Service returns, and you may not remove that attribution.

Some routes have no official source that publishes the rule. On those routes the Service says so plainly and does not state a rule as fact. Do not present those responses to your users as confirmed rules.

2. Plans and balances

Every plan includes the embed widget and at least one API key. Embed lookups and API calls draw from one shared monthly call balance, counted in calendar months (America/New_York). You can see the plans and prices on the pricing page; the plan you are on sets your balance, your per-minute rate limit, and your features.

3. What counts as a call

One call is one route lookup served: one visa check run in the widget, or one API request that returns a route answer. Directory requests (the country list and the per-passport destination list) are not metered. Loading the widget without running a check is not a call. Responses served from our cache still count as calls, because the answer was served to your user.

4. Overage

On Publisher and Business, calls are never cut off when your balance runs out. Calls beyond your balance are billed per call at your plan's per-1,000 rate ($2.00 on Publisher, $1.50 on Business), shown on the pricing page, and charged with the next billing cycle. We email you at 80% and 100% of your balance so overage never arrives unannounced. On Free, there is no overage: calls stop at 500.

5. The source link never comes off

Removing QuickTravelTools branding (Business) removes our logo. It never removes the official source link on an answer, at any tier, including Free. The source link is how your users can check the rule themselves, and it is part of what you are paying for. Removing, hiding, or obscuring the source link or the verify-before-travel attribution in the widget or in API-driven displays is a breach of these terms.

6. Acceptable use

You may:

You may not:

We may suspend keys that breach this section, with notice where the situation allows it.

7. Your keys

Keep your secret API key (qtt_sk_) private. It is shown once when it is created; we store only a hash, so we cannot show it again. You are responsible for calls made with your keys. The site key (qtt_pk_) in your embed snippet is a public identifier, not a secret; it is tied to the domains on your plan, and calls from other domains can be blocked. Tell us promptly if a secret key leaks and we will rotate it.

8. Availability, stated honestly

We check the data every day and we work to keep the Service up, but self-serve plans carry no uptime guarantee and no service-level agreement. If you need contractual availability, talk to us about a separate agreement. Rule changes we confirm are applied the same day; announced future changes appear in the upcoming changes feed with their effective dates. Our public changelog shows every change we have made, with its source.

9. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your console billing page or the Paddle customer portal, or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your keys keep working until then, and your balance does not roll over. Fees already paid are not refunded except as set out in our Refund Policy or where the law requires it. If we discontinue the Service, we will give at least 30 days notice by email and a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees.

10. Liability

The data is provided "as is". To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing), and we are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights, refused entry, or lost bookings, even if we were told they were possible. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. Verify before you travel is not fine print; it is the product rule, and it applies to your users too.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service grows. Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect, and the current version always lives on this page with its date. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

12. The basics

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's residence. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. Questions: [email protected].
